Neuromuscular therapy is a system of massage techniques that were developed in the 1930's by Dr. Stanley Lief in England. It uses a holistic approach towards healing, emphasizing and stimulating the body's natural ability to heal itself. Neuromuscular therapy also enhances the function of joints and muscles, and accelerates the overall healing process by facilitating the release of endorphins.
Combined Decongestive Therapy
Combined Decongestive Therapy has 3 steps, they are as follows.
1.Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) Therapy removes excess fluid and proteins. 2. Compression Therapy includes bandaging of the affected limb following each MLD session. This is a precise and accurate procedure using specific bandages and interfacing materials. 3. Remedial Exercises and Breathing further promote venous and lymphatic flow by activating the muscle and joint pump. 4. Skin Care and Hygiene is skin cleansing with antibacterial washes and neutral balanced pH lotions to eliminate bacterial and fungal growth minimizing the possibility of repeated attacks of cellulitis and/or lymphangitis.
